PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Pipeline Surveys for Sweeny Hub Phase 2
Pipeline Surveys for Sweeny Hub Phase 2
Client:
Phillips 66
Location:
Sweeny, Texas
Project summary:
Audubon provided pipeline survey services for Phillips 66 to support expansion of its award-winning Sweeny Hub natural gas liquid (NGL) facility. Located in Brazoria County, Texas, Sweeny Hub is the second-largest NGL-fractionation hub in the US. The pipeline survey project involved six pipelines totaling over 32 miles of pipe and four associated terminal facilities, including the Clemens Caverns terminal. The pipelines ranged from 10 to 20 inches in diameter and were laid in a congested pipeline corridor with 16 other lines—creating design and construction challenges.
Leveraging pipeline survey expertise and cutting-edge geographic information system (GIS) technology, Audubon supplied preliminary and as-built surveys, as well as routing and permitting services. Audubon’s precise data deliverables ensured design integrity and allowed construction crews to efficiently navigate the congested corridor. With Audubon’s survey expertise, Phillips 66 was able to quadruple fractionation capacity at Sweeny Hub and improve NGL gathering and processing on the Texas Gulf Coast.
