External Corrosion Direct Assessment for P5 Pipeline

P5 Pipeline ECDA | Audubon Companies |Project Management of Oil and Gas Pipelines

Client:

Air Liquide

Location:

Corpus Christi, Texas

Project summary:

Subject to integrity management rule 49 CFR Part 192, Air Liquide contracted Audubon for external corrosion direct assessment (ECDA) on its P5 pipeline serving offshore production. For 7 miles of the 8-inch pipeline, Audubon applied ECDA where other methods had proven unfeasible. The team provided turnkey services for data collection and integration, feasibility analysis, indirect inspection surveys, direct examination digs, anomaly characterization, remaining life and reassessment interval calculations, and repair design.

Audubon integrated with Air Liquide during design and assessed constructability, contractors, and operability for two ultradeep gas production facilities. Field services included paint and E&I inspection, on-site cost and materials tracking, HSE oversight, construction management, and vendor surveillance. The construction team coordinated with contractors and vendors and managed onshore and offshore logistics throughout South Louisiana and South Texas. With pipeline integrity ensured by Audubon’s ECDA and project management services, Air Liquide was able to meet regulatory specifications and reliably flow natural gas from offshore production facilities.
