Audubon Wins Turnkey EPC Contract for 275 MM-scfd Cryogenic Plant
Leading midstream operator awards start-to-finish project scope for major greenfield processing facility
HOUSTON, August 5, 2025–After a competitive bid process with the EPC industry’s leading firms, Audubon Companies was selected to deliver a major new cryogenic plant outside Midland, Texas. The plant will be designed to process 275 million scf/d of natural gas and has an aggressive schedule, with startup estimated in late 2026. As an established provider of EPC, consulting, fabrication, and field services, Audubon will complete the full project scope for the greenfield site, from engineering through construction and commissioning.
Delivering a high-priority plant on a tight schedule
A full EPC project, this cryogenic processing plant will be designed and built by Audubon’s people, from engineers and designers to project managers and expeditors to construction crews. We will collaborate closely with operator stakeholders and third-party vendors to achieve key operational and performance objectives for the site. In addition to the fast-paced timeline, the project must overcome field constraints typical of the West Texas environment: limited workforce availability, vendor coordination complexity, and precise planning for modular fabrication and delivery of critical-path equipment. Audubon will deliver each phase on time while maintaining the highest levels of execution quality and site safety.
Demonstrating our self-performed construction solution
This project represents a key EPC win for Audubon—and will showcase what sets us apart in the EPC industry. Beyond engineering and procurement for the cryogenic plant, our team is self-performing the construction with Audubon boots on the ground outside Midland:
- helical pile installation
- concrete foundations
- structural steel assembly + erection
- mechanical equipment setting
- pipe fabrication + installation
- electrical + instrumentation work
- commissioning + startup support
CEO David Robison remarked, “This project award is a powerful example of Audubon’s contribution to the growth and resilience of the midstream oil and gas market, as well as the depth and strength of our in-house capabilities. With our skilled teams at the helm from start to finish on the new processing plant, our client will bring critical, accessible energy to communities across Texas and beyond.”
The successful delivery of this large cryogenic plant will further strengthen Audubon’s portfolio of cryogenic plant projects and reinforce our role as a trusted, self-performing EPC partner for midstream infrastructure. For the plant’s operator, the greenfield project is part of a broader strategic buildout to expand processing capacity from the thriving Permian Basin.
