RENEWABLE NATURAL GAS PIPELINE

Renewable Natural Gas Pipeline | Audubon Companies

Client:

Ameresco

Location:

Houston, TX

Project Summary:

Audubon provided engineering and design, construction management, survey, and environmental services for a landfill gas (LFG) to renewable natural gas (RNG) biogas pipeline project. The conversion of LFG to RNG reduces CO2 emission from landfills while simultaneously providing a renewable energy source in the form of biogas.

This project enabled our client to distribute up to 4 million standard cubic feet per day of biogas to local natural gas transmission providers. The project was completed per all local, state, and federal jurisdictional requirements.

Audubon secured permits for construction from each jurisdiction and environmental agencies. Our team also self-performed field surveys, including civil topographic, wetland, cultural, biological, and soil resistivity as required.

The transmission pipeline was confirmed as regulated by the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA). Our team completed a class location analysis to verify the pipeline was designed to the correct safety standard. The scope of work also included construction management and inspection activities and as-built documentation.
