Murphy Oil Corporation

Gulf of Mexico (GOM), GC-433

Project Summary:

Audubon Engineering (AE), an affiliate of Audubon Companies, performed multidiscipline engineering design for the King’s Quay floating production system. The design included oil and gas processing, utilities and power generation, and accommodations. Additionally, AE provided HSE studies, procurement services for all topsides equipment, automation and systems integration, and construction coordination. The engineering team was based in Metairie, Louisiana and Houston, Texas, and closely coordinated with the fabricator and construction team in Ulsan, South Korea to successfully execute design interface, maintain schedule, and cost.

Scope of Work:

  • Performed design of complete topsides for King’s Quay FPS
  • Design Rates: 80,000 BOPD, 100MMSCFD Gas, 20,000 BWPD
  • Water Depth: 3,700 ft.
  • 62 POB
  • All production from subsea wells. Initially three (3) well centers with capability to add future tie backs
  • Designed to accommodate future subsea pumping

Scope of Work:

  • Multidiscipline detail engineering design
  • Detailed 3D modeling
  • Hull & subsea Interface
  • Schedule coordination
  • Procurement support for topsides equipment
  • Regulatory interface & compliance
  • Topsides weight control
  • Process safety analysis
  • Automation & integration of topsides equipment
