Scope of work

Project summary

Audubon supported phase II of Energy Transfer’s Permian Express pipeline (previously of Sunoco Logistics Partners) with expert pipeline inspection services. Spanning 340 miles, the crude oil pipeline begins at 20 inches in Garden City, Texas, and runs to an Energy Transfer tank terminal in Colorado City, Texas. It expands to 24 inches from there to the company’s tank facility in Corsicana, Texas. The project was broken into five spreads and also included a pig trap station and valve sites.

For each spread of the Permian Express II pipeline inspection, Audubon provided a team of 15 utility inspectors, 16 certified welding inspectors, three Association of Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP)–certified inspectors, one instrumentation and electrical (I&E) inspector, and one system management supervisor.

Supported by Audubon’s knowledgeable construction inspectors, the energy company was able to deliver a pipeline that improves outbound oil flow from the Permian Basin.
