Audubon Energizes NGL Delivery for WhiteWater Midstream with EPC Solution
BANGL project milestone ensures rapid high-voltage power, keeps schedule on track for permanent substation at Gardendale hub
HOUSTON, May 13, 2025–Audubon, a leading provider of engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), fabrication, and field services, has successfully completed a high-voltage transmission line and temporary substation for WhiteWater Midstream in South Texas. This milestone, achieved on an aggressive 5-month timeline, finalizes the first phase of a two-part project to provide power for the company’s Gardendale Y-Grade natural gas liquid (NGL) pumping station along the BANGL pipeline system.
As the project’s EPC contractor, Audubon supplied a turnkey solution for WhiteWater Midstream, including power engineering, supply sourcing, stakeholder coordination, and installation of a 1,200-ft, 138-kV transmission line and a 138-kV/4,160-V, 7.5-MVA mobile substation. Audubon stepped into the Gardendale power project to quickly energize the pumping station after unexpected setbacks to the electrification plan. The temporary solution allows the facility to start up operations along the BANGL pipeline without delay.
“This achievement underscores our team’s commitment to delivering timely and reliable services for critical power infrastructure,” said Audubon CEO David Robison.
“We are proud of the work done to get Gardendale up and running, and we will continue to bring our best to WhiteWater Midstream for the remaining infrastructure.”
President of EPC Talal El Awar, PE, commented, “The superior technical capabilities of our high-voltage power team made it possible to execute this project at the required scale and speed. Audubon’s work for WhiteWater Midstream exemplifies the benefits of having a single EPC provider on a project, especially when it comes to delivering uninterrupted progress for power delivery.”
The temporary substation plays a key role in maintaining operational continuity and supporting the overall project schedule. Simultaneously, Audubon is progressing on EPC work for the site’s permanent 138-kV/4,160-V substation, leveraging its expertise in power system design and execution to ensure seamless transition between the two systems. Upon completion, the permanent substation will provide long-term power for the Gardendale pumping station, reinforcing the region’s energy infrastructure and enabling efficient NGL delivery through the BANGL pipeline system.
