Carbon Capture – Power Generation

Carbon Dioxide Capture | Audubon Companies

Client:

Confidential

Location:

United States

Project Summary:

Audubon provided front-end engineering and design (FEED), project management, economic evaluation sand modeling services to implement a stack gas CO2 capture (approximately 1.1 MMTPA of CO2) and cleanup system to produce a pipeline-quality CO2 product. The proposed CO2 capture project aimed to reduce the carbon emissions of a 300 MW natural gas power plant.

The design scope of work included volatile organic compound (VOC), sulfur oxides (SOx), and water removal. The project evaluated several large-capacity carbon capture technologies for fuel gas applications for operational efficiency and capital expenditures. As a result, a motor drive centrifugal compression (20,000 HP) was selected fortheCO2 pipeline transmission.

Project Overview:

  • CO2 LP vent handling
  • VOC removal
  • SOX removal
  • CO2 dehydration
  • CO2 supercritical compression

Scope of Work:

  • Project management
  • Conceptual study
  • Front-end engineering & design (FEED)
  • Technology selection
  • CAPEX & OPEX estimation
  • HP CO2 compressor selection
  • Power generation & optimization
